Charissa Torossian
It is easy to observe, in Charissa Torossian, a spirit both gentle and loving, for prayer is not merely a duty but her delight. As Prayer Coordinator for the NNSW Conference, she leads out weekly Monday morning prayer. United in life with her husband, Justin, and their young son, Judah, she treasures the joys of family. She delights in many quotations, and one of them is that “There is no limit to the usefulness of one who, by putting self aside, makes room for the working of the Holy Spirit upon his heart, and lives a life wholly consecrated to God.” (Desire of Ages p.250)
Sau Finau
From his first days in Tonga to his present life in Australia, Sau Finau is a passionate son of God and desires to show others God’s love. He is the Pastor of the Bay Community Church, tending to his congregation with pastoral care and extending his compassion to the wider community through the church’s Thursday food pantry. At home, he delights in the companionship of his wife Donell, their daughter, and grandson, not forgetting the mischief of Houdini the cat and the quieter company of their fish, Pop Eye and Wiggle. His guiding belief—that “more can be done if nobody cares who gets the credit”—has become the mark of his ministry.
Mark Pearce
Mark Pearce’s story began upon the farm, where diligence and faith were first cultivated before he was drawn to the calling of ministry at Avondale. After more than thirty years as a devoted pastor, he turned his scholarly attentions to the writings of Ellen G. White, serving now as Director of the Ellen G. White Research Centre at Avondale and as a lecturer in the seminary. Alongside his wife Paulene, he continues to walk faithfully with God, ever encouraged by the promise of 1 John 5:11–13, which shows the assurance we have in Jesus.
