A group of young adults and not so young, from several churches in the Newcastle Lake Macquarie region, decided to capitalise on the time of year, to share the story of Jesus Christ, coming as "Saviour" in his first coming. As we began to set up, there were a few inquiries as to what we were doing…I guess it is not every day you see a group of 20+ people dressed in smart black and red clothes walking around Darby street with microphones and musical instruments.
Once we began to sing, it did not take long for people to being to stop and take notice. Several cars stopped once they had seen us so they could film and listen to some classic Christmas carols. I was encouraged when speaking with these people while sharing some gospel tracks and fliers for the Christmas outreach special "He is The One". I had several positive interactions with people that were inspired by us coming out and sharing the story of Jesus. I received many "God bless you" and "Merry Christmas' " while interacting with the onlookers. I guess that shows the way this time of year breaks down obstacles in outreach. Also, it highlights the hope people get hearing the story of Jesus through song.
